Join Our Team
Our nurses are experts with their humanity intact. Though highly qualified, they’re not ‘prima donnas’ who are above wiping a toilet if the need arises.
As a 24-hour on-call service for private clients, many of our bookings have less than a day’s notice. We choose only truly caring staff who:
- Thrive on responsibility.
- Are happy to go the extra mile.
- Can think outside the square.
Our pay rate isn’t as high as in surgical hospital settings. Yet the nature of our services can offer enormous job satisfaction. You have the time to give quality care and we never pressure staff to fill shifts.
What our staff say
We’re very up front about the pros and cons of our work. To this end, here’s what some of our staff think about it. If you’re seriously thinking of joining us, we’d be happy for you to chat with these staff directly.
‘I was sick of the pressure hospitals put on me and the lack of time I got to spend with patients. I was disillusioned that my desire to help people was frustrated by “the system”. Now I feel like I’m back to “true” caring. The gratitude I get from clients is like nothing I experienced in my prior nursing career.’
'At times the work can be extremely demanding. You can be dealing with people who need a lot of attention due to isolation (and the issues arising from that).
Yet being on your own has a flip side. You get to build genuine rapport with clients and care for them in a far deeper way than traditional health environments could ever allow. The genuine difference you make to people’s lives is immensely satisfying.’
Out and about
You’ll prepare and transport clients to medical appointments and collect and care for them after surgery or long hospital stays.
You’ll also take clients on social, shopping and other outings and provide expert care while they’re away from home.
You’re a safe, seasoned driver with a licence and a reliable car that can carry a wheelchair or four-wheel walker in the boot. Sport and off-road vehicles don’t suit.
You also have computer skills and a fax or scanner.
In the home
We provide 24-hour in-home care for clients recuperating from surgery or long hospital stays.
What you need
Both roles are for (active, lapsed or retired) Div. 1 Nurses with good listening and diplomacy skills, superior English, a clear speaking voice and a mobile phone.
You also need initiative, versatility and empathy to perform a variety of tasks in different socioeconomic settings.
You must be authorised to work in Australia and happy to undergo our rigorous selection process.
We’ll honour your interest by getting back to you without delay.
